The cost of College
Books, stationery, travel, clothes, food, rent, utilities (electricity, heat, phone), etc all add up. Obviously going to college is less expensive if you're living at home - but the cost can still be significant.
Some Estimates:
Living away from home
Rent on average costs €370 per month. This can be more or less expensive depending on whether you're sharing a house or flat with friends (the most economical way) or paying for 7-day-a-week partial board in digs in Dublin.

| Rent | 370 |

| Course Materials | 56 |
| Day to Day expenses | 102 |
| Household Bills | 84 |
| Gym Sport | 39 |
| Total | 1115 |
Costs are usually somewhere in or around these figures and can change depending on your particular circumstances. Multiply these totals by 8 or 9 (depending on the number of months in a year you'll be spending at college) and add the non-tuition fee. This will give you a good idea of the amount of money you'll be talking about.

If you can manage it, this is a significantly cheaper option.

Again, individual costs will vary with circumstances. Multiplying these totals by 8 or 9 (number of months in a year you'll be spending at college) and adding the non-tuition fee gives you a good idea of the amount of money you'll be talking about.
