Please feel free to contact our dedicated customer welcome team on 1800 365 100 (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and from 10am to 2pm on Saturday) where our experienced staff are on hand to guide you through the switching process. This will ensure that moving your account to Bank of Ireland is as easy as possible.

You will also receive a very warm welcome in any of our 270 branches throughout the country. MORE INFORMATION ON ACOUNT SWITCHING

    Supporting Documentation

    In order to make your transition to Bank of Ireland as smooth as possible we will need the following documentation to open your new account and to assist us with scheduling the switch.

    Please bring the following to your local Bank of Ireland branch:

    1. Original proof of your identity such as Driving Licence or current, valid, signed, full Passport
    2. Proof of your address with a recent utility bill, or original bank/building society statements
    3. Up to 6 months statements recommended for a current account switch to help ascertain the best switch date.
    4. Where credit facilities are requested (e.g. credit cards/overdrafts) you will need:
      • 6 Months most recent original Credit Card Statements (for Credit Card)
      • 6 Months most recent original Current Account Statements (for Overdraft)

    If you're already a Bank of Ireland customer you may also need to have the above so please bring it along just in case.
